Lana Del Rey Reveals Her Favorite Song on Taylor Swift’s The Tortured Poets Department at 2024 Met Gala

The two musicians previously collaborated on “Snow on the Beach” from Swift’s previous album, ‘Midnights’

Lana Del Rey is enjoying her friend Taylor Swift’s latest album.

In an interview with Entertainment Tonight on the Met Gala red carpet at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City on May 6, the “Video Games” singer revealed her favorite song from Swift’s The Tortured Poets Department.

“The one, ‘Who’s Afraid of Little Old Me?'” Del Rey, 38, told the outlet, “whatever that title was.”

“It’s beautiful,” she added of the album, released April 19.

The tenth track on TTPD, “Who’s Afraid of Little Old Me?” is one of five written solely by Swift, 34, on the 31-song Anthology edition of the album. The song finds the Grammy winner addressing and poking fun at the public’s perception of her as a famous figure.

At the 2024 Met Gala, Del Rey sported a custom look by Alexander McQueen’s Seán McGirr, honoring the “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion” theme by referencing an archival Alexander McQueen look from its fall 2006 collection, per Vogue.

Del Rey and the “Fortnight” singer previously collaborated on the track “Snow on the Beach” from Swift’s previous album, Midnights, released in 2022. The pair attended the 2024 Grammy Awards together in February, and Swift highlighted her while accepting the golden gramophone for album of the year.

“I think so many female artists would not be where they are and would not have the inspiration they have if it weren’t for the work that [Lana has] done. I think she’s a legacy artist, a legend in her prime right now. I’m so lucky to know you and to be your friend,” said Swift at the time.

In a recent interview with Zane Lowe on Apple Music 1, musician and producer Jack Antonoff spoke about the “magic” of working with both Swift and Del Rey.

“Every time we do something new, I joke, ‘I guess we still got it,’ because there’s no reason for it to keep coming the way it does,” said the Bleachers frontman, 40, in March. “There’s a lot of magic there. I feel that way with Taylor, I feel that way with Lana, I feel that with my band.”

“There’s people I’ve had these long relationships with, where I’m just like, the opposite of expecting it. It’s almost like, the more we do, the less I expect it,” added Antonoff. “Because I often think to myself, well, how much longer could we really keep having this spark? And I’m just grateful that it’s there, and I don’t know where it comes from or where it goes, but the one thing that I’ve noticed is that anyone who claims to know where it comes from and where it goes burns out pretty quick.”
