The singer spoke about the band’s upcoming docuseries ‘Thank You, Goodnight: The Bon Jovi Story’:

“We did watch the first three episodes together [with Sambora].”

Jon also said he and Richie watched it in his house and talked about what they discussed as they watched:

“‘Look what happened.’ ‘Yeah’ [laughs].”

There Is No Bad Blood Between Jon And Sambora

When one of the hosts asked if it brought any feelings back, the rocker replied:

“There was joy as we were together, just the two of us. I can’t reiterate enough. There is no animosity. He’s taken a path on his journey. Being in a rock band is not a life sentence. He was there for 30 of the 40 years. Everything along the way is what got me to where I am today.”

Bon Jovi also responded to a question about Sambora’s potential comeback:

“There’s always an opportunity. He knows three-quarters of the songs, but it’s not that I’m looking for that, or he’s looking for that, or anybody’s looking for that.”

Sambora Is Positive About Returning To The Band

In September 2023, Richie talked with the Shred With Shifty podcast about rejoining Bon Jovi. The guitarist stated:

“We’re talking about it. Yeah, it’s that [talking on the phone with Jon Bon Jovi], there’s a demand out there for it, you know, especially outside of the USA. I mean, we were a larger band [also] outside our own country and gladly.”

Two months later, Sambora again discussed the Bon Jovi reunion in an interview with People, saying:

“So yeah, it definitely could happen. It’s just a question of when everybody’s ready to go do it. It will be a big, massive kind of undertaking.”

He also talked about when it might happen:

“I’m not sure. It’s up to peoples; it’s got to be right. That’s all. It’s time to do it, though. This is our 40th anniversary, but I feel younger than ever. I’m having a ball.”

Jon is also willing to work with his former bandmate again. In a chat with Audacy Check, the vocalist said he has no hard feelings toward Sambora for leaving 11 years ago and that the door is always open for Richie.
