Angel Reese Celebrates Caitlin Clark’s Latest Iowa Loss
Angel Reese and Caitlin Clark have a lot of shared history.
Last year, Reese went viral after flaunting the Tigers’ victory over the Hawkeyes’ in Clark’s face. In the aftermath, both women tried to address the matter in a way that put talk of a beef to bed.
But it was clear that Clark and Reese aren’t exactly the best of friends.
On Sunday, as Clark’s Iowa squad fell to South Carolina in the National Championship game, Reese made it clear who she was rooting for.
First, Reese complained about the refs favoring Clark.

Then when South Carolina ultimately ended up winning, she posted a very emotional message.
“”I’m sooo happy for (South Carolina coach Dawn Staley),” Reese posted. “As a black woman, I admire what you’ve done! You always checked on me & always loved me like your own!”
Nothing of similar emotion for Clark, though.
Then came this FaceTime with South Carolina’s Raven Johnson where they mocked Clark and talked about how Johnson clamped down on her.
“Don’t let her score. I was ready for the moment,” Johnson said. “And I take defense very hard, like I take it to heart. I studied her moves, and I was ready. I had confidence this year. I was telling myself last year’s not going to happen again.”
Clearly seeing Clark lose was very important to Reese.
On Sunday night, she got exactly what she wanted.
What sort of battles will Clark and Reese ultimately have in the WNBA in the years to come? Time will tell.
