Since then, McCaffery has been one of Clark’s most prominent cheerleaders, as he has often been seen attending her games.McCaffery was a two-sport athlete who was recruited to play baseball and basketball at the University of Iowa. The COVID-19 outbreak threw a wrench in the plans of the Iowa native, who was scheduled to enter the MLB draft in 2020, according to the Des Moines Register.
Ultimately, McCaffery decided to hang up his cleats and concentrate on basketball due to injuries and the pandemic’s effects. He averaged 4.5 points, three rebounds, 3.2 assists, and 0.9 turnovers per game while playing collegiate ball. His assist-to-turnover ratio would set an all-time record when he left the program, via Sportsreference.com.
