Klay Thompson’s Brutally Honest Take On Draymond Green’s Lack Of Discipline
Draymond Green’s inability to not get technical fouls and kicked out of Golden State Warriors games has been a popular topic of conversation this year.
The chatter surrounding the subject has gotten so intense, in fact, that people have started questioning Stephen Curry’s leadership as a result.
This week Klay Thompson decided to get brutally honest with Green.
During a recent interview with Green on his own podcast, Thompson told him to his face that his lack of discipline was openly hurting the Warriors.
“When you’re not out there, it’s like a piece of us is gone,” Thompson said.
“And me and Steph are really nice guys, probably too nice. We could never be ourselves and have the freedom we do on the court without you. So when you’re not out there, it’s kind of like a huge kink in our armor.
“And I know that other team is very happy you’re not out there. I just know that for a fact, they relax a little bit, they let their hair down, they pump their chest up a little bit more because our muscle’s gone, our enforcer, the heartbeat of our team is not out there.”
That said, Thompson made it clear to Green that the love will always be there no matter what – even if he and Curry are frustrated in the moment about Green’s ejections.

“It does hurt but at the end of the day, we’ve been through so many battles, reached the mountaintop, been down the mountain, had to climb back up, got there again,” Thompon said.
“And now we have another real shot at this, it’s been a couple of tough years, but we’re still fighting, we’re still in the mix. So it does hurt, it can be disappointing in the moment, but it will never take away what’s ahead of us and what we’ve done.”
Will Green take Thompson’s words to heart and change his ways? Time will tell.
