After news broke of Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark’s impending shoe deal with Nike, it seemed to set off different responses from people who like and dislike the former Iowa Hawkeyes superstar.

Many supporters of Caitlin Clark took aim at Las Vegas Aces star A’ja Wilson after she posted a Bible scripture, “Psalm 37:7,” on X in the wake of Shams Charania of The Athletic and Stadium stating Caitlin Clark’s deal, “I’m told it’s well beyond $10 million… I think it’s fair to say that it’s above $20 million. Now, how above? We’ll see when we get the final numbers, I’m not one to speculate.”
One x user took to the site and accused the 2-time WNBA Champion of being jealous of Caitlin Clark, saying, “The jealousy in the WNBA is crazy !!!!!! Caitlin bout to bring a new level of viewership to your league, and you hating on her ???”
Wilson quickly went back at the critic by pointing out that she wishes everyone well and pointing out how hard it is for anyone to thrive in the league.
“I have no reason to be lol I truly Wish all 143 [players in the league] the best fr ! Our league is hard as hell so to thrive and to stay in it consistently.. is huge! So pls stop with this jealousy stuff.”
Wilson, a New York Times Best-Selling author via Fox.com, does not have a signature shoe with Nike. It’s rather shocking that she doesn’t, as she is a two-time WNBA champion, a two-time MVP, a Defensive Player of the Year winner, and a five-time All-Star, and she has done all of this since being in the league since 2018.
Even before that, her stardom began at South Carolina where she won a championship and was also named as a Naismith Award winner and the 2017-18 National Player of the Year.
The WNBA has seen an increase in ratings and attendance over the past few years, but it is well pail in comparison to what Caitlin Clark is about to do for the league. She’s fresh off several NCAA Tournament games that destroyed viewership records the further she went, and she is expected to bring that same type of explosion to the WNBA.
Every Current And Former WNBA Player Should Be Rooting For Caitlin Clark

Caitlin Clark is the hottest person in the WNBA and she hasn’t played a single second in the league yet.
Her success benefits everybody. If she turns out to be the next Stephen Curry or LeBron James, it will drastically change the way the WNBA is viewed, the amount of money coming in, and the ladies getting more in deals in the future. That is more than enough for current and former players to want her to do well.
