LSU Star Angel Reese Drops On WNBA Draft Board Over Attitude Concerns

LSU star Angel Reese is one of the most decorated collegiate basketball stars of her generation.

From a brand name and marketability perspective, Reese is beyond reproach. There is a reason she has gone viral in recent days for everything ranging from her wild outfit to a recent WNBA game to her provocative party pictures to the way she continues to hate on Caitlin Clark.

This week, however, Reese came into focus over her ability to succeed at the next level. With the 2024 WNBA Draft approaching, the LSU star suddenly found herself dropping on most boards.

Apparently a combination of concerns about her attitude as well as her offensive prowess began to tank her stock. Her up and down relationship with LSU head coach Kim Mulkey also isn’t helping matters.

“You might be thinking: ‘What?!? How is Reese so low — she put up monster stats, was the best player on a title team and is one of the faces of the sport!’ Well, there are also pressing questions about how Reese’s game will translate,” the New York Post noted, after projecting she will drop all the way to No. 7 where the Chicago Sky will take her.

“Can she continue her signature offensive rebounding rate (6.0 per game over two LSU seasons) against pros? Will her awkward-angle finishing and utter lack of shooting remove her as a scoring threat? What about that mystery midseason absence?

“The Sky, who traded up one pick into this spot Sunday morning, have a new head coach in Teresa Weatherspoon who has mentored Zion Williamson and a need for more Q rating.”

Reese is one of the most polarizing athletes in the sport right now.

But the fact that she isn’t a lock to go at the top of the 2024 WNBA Draft is telling in regards to how pro teams view her.

Where will Reese ultimately end up getting selected when everything is said and done? Time will tell.
