Magic Bench’s Response To Thanasis Antetokounmpo Missed Dunk
The Orlando Magic have had a 2024 NBA season for the ages.
Although most haven’t noticed it, Paolo Banchero and Co. are one of the league’s best stories this year.
Not only did Orlando finish with a 47-35 mark this season, but they are also set to face a very beatable Cleveland Cavaliers squad in the first round of this year’s playoffs.
This past weekend, the Magic faced off against the Milwaukee Bucks. Not only did they blow them out 113-88, but in the process they recorded a moment that immediately went viral.
Thanasis Antetokounmpo, who is only in the NBA because of his brother, has become something of a punch line around the league. Even his own teammate, Damian Lillard, can’t help but mock him.
The tough times continued this weekend when he missed a dunk and the entire Magic bench reacted like this:
While you have to feel for Antetokounmpo, what with the way he gets ridiculed, it is also hard to ignore the circumstances surrounding his time in the NBA.
When you are only in the league because your brother is an all-time great, you have to take some of the bad with that good fortune.
Will Antetokounmpo ultimately redeem himself in the playoffs this season? Probably not, but there is always a chance.
