The Golden State Warriors faced a tough defeat against the New Orleans Pelicans, losing 114-109 in a game on Friday night. This loss was significant because it directly impacted their position in the standings.
Unfortunately, the Warriors couldn’t overcome their turnovers and the Pelicans’ exceptional three-point shooting. Despite Stephens Curry’s masterclass, the Warriors lost the game.
Stephen Curry’s brilliant performance fails to save Warriors
In a 32-minute game, Stephen Curry put up impressive stats: 33 points, 4 rebounds, 5 assists, 1 steal, 7 turnovers, 2 fouls, shooting 12-for-23 from the field, hitting 7 of 13 three-point attempts, and making both of his free throws, resulting in a solid 69.1% True Shooting percentage, although the game ended with his team down by 8.
This game showcased Curry’s dual nature on the court. He single-handedly carried the scoring load for the Warriors with remarkable efficiency. Every shot he took seemed a wonder, especially crucial ones that turned the game for his team. His step-back three-pointers were like magic, rescuing the Warriors from close defeat on multiple occasions.
These turnovers were costly, coming at key moments and impacting the team’s rhythm. Despite being the go-to guy for the final shot, Curry’s decision-making was questioned, as he was taking more critical shots than making it into a strategic play.
Curry could be injured following an ugly ankle roll
Adding to the challenges, Curry dealt with an ankle injury in the fourth quarter, raising concerns about his availability for upcoming games; possibly, he will be resting on Sunday to ensure he’s fully fit for the Play-In Tournament.
The match against the Pelicans was outstanding from the point of view of Stephen Curry as he dominated the game single-handedly but couldn’t make it to the last for the injury. He was caught with an ankle twist in the fourth quarter but continued playing for a while. After some time, he dropped down because of the pain, and fans questioned if he was ok or not. We will get to know about that soon against Jazz.
In the comment section below, let us know what you think of Stephen Curry; we would love to hear about it.
