As if the Tyrese Haliburton incident is not disappointing enough, the details surrounding the whole fiasco made things even look worse for the Milwaukee Bucks.

For those who missed it, Haliburton’s brother was hit with a racial slur during Game 1 of the NBA Playoffs series between the Bucks and Indiana Pacers.

Tyrese Haliburton Incident Gets Shocking Milwaukee Bucks Update

Haliburton made the revelation after the Pacers’ Game 2 win over the Bucks, sharing that his younger brother was called the N-word in their playoffs opener at Fiserv Forum last Sunday.

While Haliburton appeared to be uncomfortable to speak out about the issue, he pointed out that it’s important for them to address it and shed light on an incident that shouldn’t have happened.

“My little brother in the stands the other day was called the N-word. It was important for us as a family to just address that, and that was important for us to talk about. Because that just didn’t sit right with anybody in our family, so it’s been important to have my family here right now. My little brother’s handling that the right way,” Haliburton shared, as reported by Lori Nickel of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.

As the revelation shocked the basketball community, more details about what happened has since emerged. Dustin Dopirak of Indianapolis Star reported that the security in the Bucks’ arena was apparently informed of the matter but didn’t remove the person in question from the facility.

“Per league source, building security was notified of the incident involving Tyrese’s brother, but the fan was not removed from the game,” Dopirak reported.

Now it is worth noting that it doesn’t mean that there was no action taken, nor does it mean that the fan in question was innocent. There are very little details on everything that happened, so it might be too premature to jump into conclusions on why the security in the arena didn’t remove the person who said the racist remarks towards Haliburton’s brother.

Milwaukee Bucks Fans Not Happy With Tyrese Haliburton Incident

As reported earlier, several Milwaukee Bucks fans condemned what happened and showed their disappointment to the fanbase. After all, they should know better that such hate has no room in the NBA and in sports.

One fan even noted that, “Whoever said this s**t is not a true Bucks fan. F**k that dude. Doesn’t belong in Fiserv or anywhere in Wisco.”

It remains to be seen what the NBA and the Bucks will do. But sure enough, an investigation needs to be made in order to properly address the matter. Not only will it shed more light on the incident, but it’ll also likely help in improving their protocols to ensure that everyone is safe in the arena.

If one person really hurled racist remarks and was not removed from the arena, let’s say for the lack of proof to verify the incident, then it’s going to be a big problem that many people might abuse.
