Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman have explained that Deadpool 3 will be set before Logan.
In a video released on social media, Reynolds and Jackman sat down to talk fans through any concerns they may have regarding the film.
The two directly addressed some vocal fan disappointment over the return of Jackman as Wolverine after the character’s death in Logan.
They said: “Logan takes place in 2029. Totally separate thing. Logan died in Logan, not touching that.”
Reynolds then says: “What actually happens in our film is these two f***ing guys…” before the audio cuts out and Wham’s ‘Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go‘ starts playing as they mime a fight between Deadpool and Wolverine.
The short clip ends with the two thanking Marvel president Kevin Feige and a picture of Reynolds and Jackman with Deadpool 3 director Shawn Levy.

Reynolds and Jackman previously starred together in X-Men Origins: Wolverine with the Red Notice actor playing a very different version of Wade Wilson/Deadpool.
That film ended up being a significant commercial and critical disappointment.
Jackman is just the latest X-Men star to cross over into the MCU after Patrick Stewart reprised his role as Professor X in Dr. Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and Evan Peters appeared as Quicksilver in WandaVision.
Deadpool 3 is expected to be released on 6 September, 2024.
