Travis Barker’s Son Landon Explains Megan Fox’s Secret Role In His Career

Landon Barker recently looked back on his collaboration with Machine Gun Kelly on ‘Die In California.’ It turns out the song found its place on MGK’s 2022 album, ‘Mainstream Sellout,’ thanks to Megan Fox.

While Landon and LJay Currie were working on the song, Machine Gun Kelly showed up in the studio unplanned and recorded some verses with them. The 21-year-old singer recalled:

“One day, months later, like a couple of weeks later maybe even, I decide to post it on TikTok, and I randomly just post it on TikTok. He totally forgot about the song. He probably wasn’t even thinking about it.”

He revealed:

“From what I was told, Megan was just scrolling on YouTube and found it and was like, ‘I love this.’ And randomly, however many days later, she tells him, and he texts my dad, ‘I have a weird idea.’ It says, ‘I wanna put that ‘Die In California’ song on the album.’ And after that, kinda it all kicked up.”

A Health Scare Followed The Song’s Success

‘Mainstream Sellout’ became MGK’s second number one record on the Billboard 200. Travis Barker produced both this and the singer’s previous chart-topper, ‘Tickets To My Downfall.’

Kelly and Landon performed ‘Die In California’ at Madison Square Garden in June 2022. The show followed Travis’ hospitalization the same day. News reported that the drummer was taken to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in LA for a then-unknown medical emergency.

Travis later shared that life-threatening pancreatitis was the problem. He wrote in Instagram Stories:

“I went in for an endoscopy Monday feeling great. But after dinner, I developed excruciating pain and have been hospitalized ever since.”

The Blink-182 drummer’s condition got better in the following months. Currently, he’s waiting to kick off a new tour leg with his band. The next performance will take place at the Kia Center in Orlando, Florida, on June 20.
